Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation....

Well, it's been a very lazy week for me. We had a wonderful Christmas -- many presents, lots of laughter and a very eventful "family game night" hosted by Anne and Mark. (I still can't believe they are married! She's a Robinson!!)

Since Christmas (and even a few days before) I haven't done a single thing related to finding a job.....shhhh.....

Fun little do dads

Such a fun night!! Amy came over last night and gave me a little fun present. She made an adorable card to ask me and her other bridesmaids to be a part of her wedding. I love how creative our family is!! She even did all of our hair how we wear it -- I have a side bun! :-)

Also, totally random side note. I bought this little stick on blackboard that's SO fun!! You can put it up on walls and then take it back down. I got the idea from Anne who has a super cute one she got from seejanework.com. Mine isn't as cute, but it was only $6. Haha. Paper source!! LOVE IT!

This has been such a crafty 2 months and I absolutely love it!! First off, Anne wanted these bird cake toppers by artist Ann Wood. They were all sold out (and a bit expensive) so Mom and I decided to make them ourselves. Really, honestly...most of this was my mother. But I helped in small ways! I think they turned out so well -- so cute. They were quite the hit at the wedding, if I do say so myself.

Once that project was complete -- I started with fun holiday crafts. I love me some Martha Stewart!! I want to work for her. I started making little elves out of pinecones and needle felting penguins and polar bears. They are cute little projects that aren't overwhelming to take on and leave you with a grin on when you're finished.

Not sure what I'm going to do next -- but I'll figure something out. :-)

Mi loco year.

This year has been overwhelmingly active. Michael was married in May to the beautiful Laura who has broken into our family with great ease. Her parents are fantastic and her sister is my new best friend...although I’m not sure she knows that yet. :-) They are so happy together and I'm so glad they found each other. I've never seen two people more in love!

After their wedding, May 2nd, we started to plan Anne’s wedding. In the me

antime, Pat and Stacy announced they were going to have a baby (Jackson Patrick) and Amy and Deuce were engaged! As for me...I am devastatingly single, work part time at

a golf course where I am stung by bees, asps and other woodland creatures, and I live with my mother. ....need to work on things. Haha, i kid, i kid. I couldn't be happier for my family. So Amy found her dress (ADORABLE), Pat and Stacy are due in January, and Anne’s wedding was this weekend.

sucks.

Well. Poop. The Anthropologie deal is a no go. I need 3-D Installation experience which is sort of difficult to find. I'll have to hunt for that.....

I just got home from Anne and Mark's new house. So cute -- it's such a great house. I feel like there will be many guitar hero parties to come. I should start practicing....

I need a job. And something exciting going on. Does anyone know of anything? I need some....something.

I want to move to Argentina. Anyone want to join?

Nail Biting Nervous..ness...

So I wake up at 8:30 this morning (which is ungodly early for me) to finish my portfolio and get ready for my interview with Anthropologie. The position open is for a display coordinator. Basically someone is given a song, mood, color, etc. for inspiration and they come up with, buy supplies for, and assemble a window display to fit that inspiration. Basically the coolest job ever. I have no idea how much the position pays -- don't even care, but was SO excited at the possibility of being considered. Out of the 5,000 it feels like interviews I have been on, this is the only one that I was nervous for. My hands were shaking so badly I couldn't type on my phone, and now understand what it means when someone feels "butterflies". Hopefully I will hear from her -- I think it would be perfect for me.

After I left Anthro and the butterflies were gone, I decided my pasty ghost skin needed some sun. Not exactly keeping track of time, I drag my pale self inside and look in the mirror to find what looks like a lobster who got stuck under a rock, as only half of my body is burnt due to the tree that was hovering over me. Awesome.

Then I had to go to a stupid meeting for work. Snooooze fest. My boss looks like the pringles guy. Only he only has one little sprout of hair on top, not one on each side. He shaves the rest of his head. Kid you not. No idea why he thinks a little tuft of hair that is shaped like a dome on his head is attractive, but he obviously did some thinking before coming to that decision.

When I got home from my meeting I worked out! Aren't you proud? I hate working out, therefore never do it. However, now that both of my sisters are getting married and I am painfully single...I figure its time to start shedding the cellulite, if not for finding a boy then atleast for the pictures from the impending weddings. *sigh* I hate it.

All in all, a very productive day. Cross your fingers for me about the job. :-/

Let's begin.

I shall jump on board and begin a blog!

Amy sent me a link to her blog the other day and in it she spoke of my mother having started one. I am apparently the last of the Doak girls to do this. So....lets jump.
